I Just Don't Understand

I just don't understand - a whole lot of things. For one - how DO those signals travel from one cell phone to another or one cell phone to a computer or a cell phone camera PHOTO to another? And, where EXACTLY is it when it doesn't show up four HOURS after you originally sent it? And when I am on the beach and texting a friend, and the message reads "sending" for a whole minute, is it trying to cross the ocean, go through the wind or what??? Techie, I am not, when my friends were learning about high tech and running to Best Buy, I was looking at the very newest "gift with purchase" from the Clinique counter, guess you could say I was MORE concerned that someone would CALL me while I was looking my nicest with the fewest wrinkles possible, than working the buttons and endless menus on the latest phones. Now, however, like my mother before me, the older I get, the more interested I am in these gadgets. Once you get the gist of what they can really DO for YOU, you find yourself becoming passionate about them working correctly. I have recently traded in my dollars for more cell phones that I have ever spent in make-up or nails! I just want the doggone thing to have the best signal in the state, no, the region, not just the region, the nation, oh heck, I even expect it to work around the world. AND THAT'S JUST THE CRAZIEST THING, some of them do. And I am now constantly on the LOOKOUT for the newest tool - not gardening, not home improvement, but the latest techie tool, I am following in my mother's footsteps and my Dad's trail of old and used cell phone cords and chargers and it's a big pile!
